Mpho is currently the Executive Sales Director for the Financial Services & Insurance (FSI) vertical at BCX. Mpho possess global and regional executive management experience in leading large strategic business functions, having successfully managed senior management teams across different geographies (Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa), providing strategic direction, leadership, and programme management in the realms of Technology, Managed Services, and Digital Transformation.
In his last role before moving to BCX in April of 2023, Mpho was the Director of the Industry & Value Advisory practice at SAP, prior to that, he served as the Regional Vice President of Business Value Engineering for IFS, looking after Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Mpho brings with him over 13 years of Senior Leadership experience in Sales, Strategy, Business Development and Business Operations Management from multiple leading global organisations (i.e. BCX, SAP, IFS, Oracle, and KPMG), with a deep understanding of XaaS businesses and value engineering. Mpho is passionate about diversity and inclusion (D&I), having won the 2021 Global Industry & Value Advisory Award for his work on the Black Employee Network (BEN) for SAP Africa. Dr. Mpofu spearheaded the "Smart Classroom" initiative, which aligns with the university's blended learning objectives and provided critical support during the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative established a robust framework for online education, enabling uninterrupted learning despite global disruptions.
Additionally, Dr Mpofu played a pivotal role in expanding eduroam, a secure internet access service, to all public airports in South Africa, in collaboration with Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) and the Tertiary Education & Research Network of South Africa (TENET). This initiative benefitted students and staff without internet access at home, bridging the digital divide.
